Here she is with a more naturalistic torso and breasts.

'Tis the Season of Costume Malfunction
Seems like I always go for the same schtick.
Here's some pencils for a silly little holiday greeting.
Working on colors now.

Dejah Adjust
As promised, here's the first adjustment. Her torso just looked way too fake.
This looks a little more natural (lowered her right shoulder (screen left), but the shape of the torso feels off.

Dejah Paint Final (sort of)
Let's call this done for now. I'm sure I'll spot things to fix in a day or two...
This is probably the most complete scene, simple as it is, that I've ever tried to paint.

Here's a detail shot (actual size) from her stomach area. This gave me fits because I couldn't quite find a reference that had the right lighting and pose, and no one twists their body like this!

Interview on LF Weber's Blog
In an odd moment of coindental convergence, I happened to add one of my favorite artists, L F Weber to my recently created list of blogs I follow, and much to my surprise, I hit his 50th follower jackpot!
The second surprise came when he told me that he wanted to interview me. So, if for some odd reason you really want to hear me rant, check out his very gracious interview
But really, what you should be doing is following his blog: http://lfrankweber.blogspot.com/

Contest winners
After watching Matt Humphreys carefully construct his drawings on his livestream, and also getting a tutorial on opacity vs flow by Mike Henry on *his* livestream, I changed up my approach to sketches. I applied this to pieces for two winners of contests I ran at Deviant Art: one for getting the 50,000th page view, and one for a picture of my first comic book cover for Zombie Vs Cheerleaders #2 in the comic book store.
Here they are.
Yookie is a character that belongs to http://lntraining.deviantart.com/ in the Vindictus MMORPG.
Alexis is a character in a story by Dan Burbridge <http://danebainbridge.deviantart.com/>

Blogging Experiment
Hi! Welcome to my new blog! And thanks for stopping by!
I find that when I'm drawing, sometimes I have to force myself to put a piece down in order to stop working on it and do other stuff (like eat), or put it down long enough to be able to come back to it with fresh eyes.
So this blog is an experiment in making myself put my tablet pencil down.
As well, certain publishing venues are very prudish about what can and cannot be displayed, so this is an avenue for letting those out for some fresh air.
So watcher, beware. Subscribe you who are gluttons for works in progress picts and aren't afraid of a little pink every now and then.

To start things off, here's a work in progress based on an old sketch. I'm still having trouble with her upper torso.
